Dublin is one of the upcoming tourist destinations in Europe. The city though an upcoming metro, retains its old world charm and hospitality. Dublin is a compact, pretty city with old Georgian houses, churches and castles dotting the landscape of the city. The imposing Christ Church in the heart of medieval Dublin has crypts dating back to the original Viking days. The Chester Beatty library has an impressive collection of books and even more impressive architecture with landscaped gardens and rooftops. The Kilmainham Goal is the famous prison where leaders of the 1916 Rebellion were executed and the Dublin Castle stands to tell tales of the 700-year oppression by the English.

Walking is the best way to see Dublin. Eat the up market Bleu or L Ecrivian restaurants, in the evening visit the Temple Bar area which has many bars and clubs to while the evening away. Stay at the high-end Clarence or Gresham Hotel or choose from the various inns in Dublin and some off beat one like the Isaac Hotel, which is a 200-year wine vault, converted into a hotel.
